OUR GIVING PHILOSOPHY
We believe that giving is an act of worship. We embrace irrational generosity.
We know it changes lives, ours and the people we’re reaching. At the Faith First House of Hope, taking action on your generosity is simple.
It’s impossible to out-give God, but you’ll never regret trying.
God gives us good things we don’t deserve and could never earn, like grace and forgiveness. He gave the ultimate gift, His son, for our sins. When you hear us talk about irrational generosity, that’s what we mean. God created you with a generous spirit. We want to help you embrace it by giving beyond your tithe with an offering to one of these causes
Faith First House of Hope promotes and encourages all of its members to be free-will tithers. We believe the idea of being a free-will tither is supported by scripture in God’s Holy Word. The idea of free-will is based on the New Testament scripture 2 Corinthians 9:6-7. We believe that giving is not an issue of money; instead, we realize that giving is an issue of FAITH(Malachi 3:10) and of the HEART(Matthew 6:21).
The Bible asks us to give our first and our best back to God, and He will bless the rest. We return to the Lord 10% of what He’s giving us because it belongs to Him.
If you’re not tithing already, a great way to start is with the Three-Month Tithe Challenge. Essentially, it’s a contract based on the promises of God in Malachi 3:10-11.
Tithing is our foundation of giving.
The Bible teaches us a baseline standard for giving: The tithe. When we give the first 10% of our income to the church, we put God first in our lives. Tithing is an act of worship that expresses our gratitude, faith, and love for others. The Three-Month Tithe Challenge can help you get started.
Tithing is a biblical principle. God calls us to give the first 10% of our income back to Him. We’ve seen God provide abundantly in our church, and we know He will provide abundantly for you and your family when you put Him first in your finances. In fact, it’s the one area in the Bible where God tells you to test Him.
WAYS TO GIVE
“In every way I’ve shown you that by laboring like this, it is necessary to help the weak and to keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, for He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35
